Olympia Square, Amsterdam
The fencing for the multifunctional, public Olympia Square sports park in Amsterdam consists of square steel tubular profiles in a cross-over pattern. To discourage climbers, the top of the fence is decorated with figures doing handstands. The entrance gate includes a tribute to one the Netherlands' most successful sporting daughters, Fanny Blankers-Koen. The fencing was hot-dip galvanised by Verzinkerij Wolvega and subsequently powder coated in two layers by Poedercoating Wolvega.
The Olympia fencing won both the Dutch Design Award for 2008 in the category "best product for public space" and the 2008 Design to Business Award.
